My feeling about 'Make Poverty History'

Threre was a march in Edinburgh on 2rd July, which is the biggest in Scotland.  There were 225000 people joining this demonstration, and they made this like a festival and annoucement, in terms of my opinion.

Actually, my feeling is that these people are so kind to concern people living in the other world, which is definitly different from theirs, but they probably cannot bear the possible difficult lives if they really have to do something: what I tried to indicate was that they may have to pay more taxes and more money on buying petrol, to reduce their welfare social serives and their subsidies on inefficient farming, and to limit the consumption of their luxurious production, for exampe, to refuse selling BMW and Mercede Benz to the officials and leaders in African countries.  For me, it is impossible that they would like to continue their comfortable life styles and, in the meanwhile, to help other people.  If they have some doubts about these sacrifices, they have no strong positions in their appeals.

That was the reason when I passed through the march, I suddenly felt like to cry.

By the way, I felt a little disappointed that I could not see any relating activities in Taiwan.  In newspapers in the UK on Sunday, I scanned through them and found they noticed every relating activity about supporting these pre G8 summit protestings, which were held in Canada, the US, the UK, Japan, South Africa and France.  I was looking forward to finding something about this in Taiwan, because I supposed that this must be the great opportunity to grab attention from the whole world.  Unfortunately, there were onthing; when I searched news on Taiwanese websites, I could not find anyone or any groups in Taiwan mentioning this.  What I could only find was the entertainment news about the concerts in London.

Since last Saturday, I have kept hearing sirens coming and going, because there have been continuing protesting in Edinburgh more or less.  For me, it is interesting to experience this.  I still hope these rich countries can hope the poor countries although I do not consider that they are ready to have some scarifices.
